Ivan Ray McClure Sr, 78, passed away March 30, 2024.
He was born on January 10, 1946, in Mount Vernon, Kentucky, to Robert and Mable McClure.
Ivan was a truck driver for 31 years. He enjoyed bowling, working on his John Deer and taking care of the yard with his wife. Working on old cars and small motors is something he always had a knack for. He was always there to help if someone needed it. He loved spending time with his family. And if you wanted to go to the Casino, he was always ready. He and Linda enjoyed many trips to the slots where win or not, they always had a great time together.
He is survived by Sister Rosie, his loving wife of 58 years Linda; son, Floyd (Sammy) McClure; daughter-in-law, Melissa McClure; Granddaughters, Mia, Megan and Marissa; and great grandchildren, Kjerstin, Matthew, and Bradley; and beloved dog, Dixie.
He was preceded in death by his son, Ivan Ray McClure Jr.; brothers Charles, Estle, Rosco, Earl, Sherman and sisters Dorothy Nichlos, and Ruby Hines.
Funeral service will take place 2 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Flanner Buchanan – Decatur Township, 5463 Kentucky Ave, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46221, with burial to follow in West Newton Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of service.
Memorial contribution in his name may be made to American Diabetes Foundation.
