Irma Jeanine Wilson, 69, of Brownsburg, Indiana passed away suddenly on December 17, 2019. She was born June 29, 1950 in Indianapolis, Indiana to William and Pearl; their only daughter.
Irma recently retired after working 34 years for Wal-Mart. She worked directly with the Walton family, opening new locations throughout the United States and Canada before finally settling into her home locations of Avon and Brownsburg as manager. She was a fierce, loyal, hardworking employee and will be missed by her work family. Irma loved traveling and spending time with her girlfriends for dinner and movies, especially her best friend, Susie. She loved shopping, especially on QVC and HSN and quite possibly owns 600 pairs of shoes from her shopping excursions. She was a simple woman who enjoyed having fun and spending time with her loved ones. Her sudden passing leaves an empty space in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to meet her; she was truly one of a kind.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Pearl and son, Jimmy Rakes. Surviving to carry on her legacy are children Jerry (Jami) Rakes, David Rakes, and Lisa Rakes; brothers, Bill Humphrey, George Hutchinson, Johnny Lusk, and Gary Wigginton; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; best friend, Susie Aaron; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.
All are invited to visit Monday, December 23 from 10-12 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Floral Park, 425 North Holt Road, Indianapolis, Indiana. Funeral services will take place at 12 PM. She will be laid to rest at Floral Park Cemetery immediately following services. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Irma’s memory to an animal shelter of your choosing.
