Ina Turley,
92, passed away on October 22, 2015. Ina was born in South Charleston, West Virginia, on May 8, 1923 to the late Stuart and Audry Bare. She met her husband, the late Donald L. Turley, in South Charleston where they attended high school together. Ina served in the Navy during WWII and received an Honorable Discharge for her service as a radio controlman. After her service, Ina was a stay-at-home mother to their six children. When her children were older, she worked in retail management for 20 years until she retired.
Ina loved her family dearly, as well as the many dogs and grand-dogs she had over the years. She taught Sunday school in her younger years in South Charleston, and in her 80's enjoyed doing charity work for a village in Haiti that her church in Sarasota adopted. She and Don enjoyed many years of camping with their children and grandchildren on their lake property in Ohio. She will always be remembered for her giving heart, sense of humor, love of music, playing card games, and her never-ending faith in God.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, children; Michael R. Turley, Kristan A. Miller (Mike),and her sister, Helen Summers. She is survived by her children, Patti L. Gilbert (Tom), Alan D. Turley (Jane), David S. Turley, and Dawna L. Smith (Ed), 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
A small graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 12 p.m. at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East.
