Ignacio Angeles Kalanoc 89 years of age of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away peacefully Wednesday Feb. 28th, 2018 at Community Hospital North surrounded by family.
Ignacio A. Kalanoc was born on July 31st 1928 in Tondo, Manila, Philippines. Parents father Justiniano Kalanoc. Mother Nieves Angeles Kalanoc. Ignacio was one of nine children (5 brothers and 3 sisters).
Ignacio started his Military journey when he first worked as a civilian mechanic at Harmon Air Force Base, Guam in 1947. In April 1953 he was recruited into the military by the U.S. Army. Ignacio had a Distinguished Military career. After 22 years of service he retired in April 1975. He received the following service awards while in the military.
• Dept. of the Army Commendation Medal for Meritorious service in Europe 1968-1970
• The United States Of America Bronze Star for Meritorious Achievement in ground operations against hostile forces in the republic of Vietnam from Oct. 1970 – August 1971
• The United States of America Meritorious Service Medal April 1975
• In Civilian Life the Department Of the Army Achievement Medal for Civilian Service 1989-1990
Ignacio is survived by his wife Josefina C. Kalanoc, children from previous wife Johanna Ortmuller Kalanoc (deceased).
David H. Kalanoc, Robin Kalanoc from Indianapolis and their 6 children and 9 grandchildren.
Edward Kalanoc of Ashland Virginia
Teresita F Warfel, Daniel Warfel of Seminole, Florida and their one child and six grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Cheryl Kalanoc of Noblesville Indiana
Joanna Kalanoc of Indianapolis, Indiana and her 3 children (son Kyle deceased) and 4 grand children
Peggy Clements, Mike Clements from Sterling, Alaska
Monica Mullis, Will Mullis of Cincinnati and their 4 children with one grandchild and another grandchild due in April 2018.
