Hurley Eugene “Gene” Waters II, also affectionately known as “Cowboy”, 63, passed away February 5th, 2021. He was born March 27th, 1957, in Indianapolis to parents Hurley Sr. and Rosemary Waters.
Gene graduated from Arsenal Tech in Indianapolis.
In 2003, he married the love of his life, Sandy Renner at Eagle Creek. They shared 18 wonderful years together.
Gene worked for IPS for many years, a job he enjoyed immensely.
Cowboy was a funny, loving man, with a huge heart. He loved being outdoors, fishing and camping with his family. He also enjoyed hunting. Gene also like to shop. Above all, he loved spending time with Sandy and his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Gene is survived by his wife, Sandy; his siblings Cindy (Marty) Crowe, Linda Jones, and Joe Waters; several nieces and nephews including Melinda Torrance and her son Dante; numerous loving friends and coworkers; and his feline companion Patsy.
Besides his parents, Gene is preceded in death by his nephew James Olmstead.
Visitation for Gene will be at Flanner Buchanan- Washington Park East, Friday, February 12th, from 3pm-7pm. His funeral service will be at the same location, Saturday, February 13th, at 2pm.
