Howard “Howie” R. Beyer, 89, of Carmel, passed away February 2, 2018. He was born January 30, 1929, in Chicago, IL, the son of Rudolph and Mary (Coelin) Beyer. He married Joan Marie Chiappetta, and she preceded him in passing on September 8, 2015, after 62 years of marriage.
Howie was drafted into the United State Army in 1951. He proudly and honorably served in the 432nd E.C.B. in Germany during the Korean War. After serving his country, Howie worked as a pipefitter with the Local Union 597 for more than 60 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church and the American Legion. He is survived by three children, Thomas H. (wife, LeeAnn) Beyer, Janet L. (husband, Cole) Peyron; and Joyce M. Ross; five grandchildren, Tyler (Brittney) Hinkle, Kyle Hinkle, Kristina Beyer, Matthew Beyer, and Madison Ross; and one great granddaughter, Sophia.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 8, 2018, with the eulogy to be given at 10:45 a.m., at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 14598 Oakridge Road. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at Flanner Buchanan – Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive.
