Howard Edgar Byrd

Howard Edgar Byrd, 95 of Avon, passed away on May 5, 2019. He was born on May 16, 1923 in Richmond, to the late Edison and Ethel Byrd. 

Howard graduated from Economy High School in Economy, IN, and he then served in the U.S Navy during WWII. Howard worked for Eaton Gear Works in Richmond, IN and after retiring worked for several years at Wood-Mizer in Indianapolis, IN. He attended and served for many years at Chapel Rock Christian Church in Indianapolis, IN. 

Howard was preceded in passing by his wife, Agnes. 

He is survived by his sister, Wanda King of Richmond, IN; son, Ron Byrd and daughter-in-law, Phyllis Byrd of St. Louis, MO; daughter, Judy Engle and son-in-law, Rick Engle of Houston, TX, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.  

Memorial contributions can be given to Chapel Rock Christian Church. 

Visitation will be on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Chapel Rock Christian Church, 2020 N. Girls School Rd., from 11AM-1PM, with the service immediately following. Burial will take place at West Ridge Park Cemetery.
