Herschel "Leroy" Rance

Herschel “LeRoy” Rance of Indianapolis passed away on January 14, 2021 at the age of 73. He was born February 1, 1947 in Indianapolis to the Late Herschel and Mable Rance.

LeRoy went to school through the 10^th grade and grew up in Indianapolis. His first job was working at the Steer-In for a few years. He worked at a printing shop until 1974. He then went to General Devices, working in the assembly area for 39 years, and retired in 2012. He was a long-time member of the Eastside, Central, and Southport Church of the Nazarene. He served in many different capacities, such as Sunday School Teacher, Youth Leader, Bus Ministry, Children’s Pastor, ad Youth Pastor. As a Youth Pastor in his first church, he met Clarissa and they began their courtship. They were married in 1972. LeRoy continued his education by receiving his Local Preaching License and became an Associate Pastor. He loved it! He also loved Pacer Basketball, peanut butter, chocolate, making people laugh, and letting everyone know he cared. He also loved to hunt and fish with his family. Above all, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved the Lord with everything that was in him. God came first no matter what.

LeRoy is survived by his wife, Clarissa Ann Rance; children: Jeff (Jalana) Rance and LeAnn (Charlie) Davis; and his grandchildren: Briona Adams and Rachel Rance.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Herschel and Mabel Rance.; and his grandson, Caleb Rance.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Southport Church of the Nazarene, 920 East Southport Road, Indianapolis. A Funeral Service will follow at 5:00 p.m. LeRoy will be laid to rest on Monday, January 18, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Washington Park East Cemetery.
