Herman S. Lucas

Herman S. Lucas of Cumberland died on January 17, 2021 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 85.

He was born June 1, 1935 in Lincoln, Kentucky to the late Frank and Stella Lucas.

He served in the United States Navy.  He then went to work as a Steamfitter and was a member of Local 440. He enjoyed watching sports (Colts football, Pacers basketball,and Nascar).  He loved collecting sports memorabilia. He enjoyed driving his “hotrod” Dodge Challenger! But most of all, he loved spending extensive time with his family!

He is survived by his children Frank Lucas (Rhea), Ronald Turner (Barbara), Randall Turner (the late Diane), and David Turner (Kathy); granddaughter Tonya Burgett-Taylor (Chad); grandson Cyril Ray Weatherford (April); siblings William Lucas and Dessa Kerburg; son-in-law Ronald Weatherford; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Pauline Lucas in 2013; daughter Jurline Weatherford; five brothers; and three sisters.
