Henry L. Vaught, 76, of McCordsville, IN passed away at home on April 30, 2021. Henry was born on July 5, 1944 in Versailles, IN. He served in the United States Army where he spent time stationed in Korea. Henry worked at Allison Transmission in Speedway, IN for the majority of his career. It was at Allison Transmission where he met his wife of 40 years, Bonnie Vaught.
Henry loved spending time outdoors salmon fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed playing poker and darts with his friends at the Yacht Club, as well as using his handyman skills to help others. In retirement, Henry liked to complete word puzzles, watch home improvement shows, and the more than occasional Hallmark movie with his wife Bonnie. Henry was a loving stepfather and grandfather and an amazing pet owner to his beloved cat Mindy.
Henry is survived by his wife Bonnie Vaught; his stepchildren Brian Kerby (Lynn), Brad Kerby, and Kim Waterman (Philip); his grandchildren Sierra and Abigail Waterman and Nicole Kerby; and his brother John Vaught (Peggy). Henry is predeceased by his parents Mamie and Henry H. Vaught; and his sister Esther Smith.
In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Hamilton County Humane Society, 10501 Hague Rd, Fishers, IN 46038. Visitation will be held Saturday at Flanner Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Good Shepherd Chapel), 9700 Allisonville Rd. Indianapolis, from 12:30-1:30pm. Funeral services will begin there at 1:30pm.
