“Hank”, Henry E. Stoeffler, 86, passed away July 16, 2018. He was proud father to Lesley Stoeffler (Marvin Pribble), Ronald Stoeffler (Linda), Andrea Middlesworth (Gary), Daniel Stoeffler (Julie), and proceeded in death by Kimberly Stoeffler Shepherd (Steve). Twelve grandkids and four grand in-laws called him Papaw; Corinne Flora (Keith), Steffany Stoeffler, Danielle Stoeffler DeWitt, Benjamin Reno (Jordan), Paul Stoeffler (Megan), William Reno (Markella), Mitchell Carter, Caleb & Logan Stoeffler and Emily, Drew & Alexa Middlesworth; as did his 7 great grandkids. Hank retired from the Indianapolis Fire Department after 29 years of service in 1988 and had also served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.
Hank attended Marian College (University) before joining the Indianapolis Fire Department. He was known by all for his way of always finding the humor in a situation, his generous heart and his incredible work ethic. He was a member of the Lawrence Exchange Club and always sought and found opportunities to help others.
He will be missed greatly by his family and friends and instructed that there was to be “no fuss” when he left us. We will be celebrating his life in a service at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park East, 10722 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, IN on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 from 4 to 8pm.
His motto was “if you can’t have fun, stay home”. We are at peace knowing he is finally home and having a great time laughing and joking with friends and family he has long missed.
