Helen M Jeffries

Helen M. Jeffries, 94 of Indianapolis, passed away at Westside Village on Sunday, June 23, 2019. She was born on May 1, 1925 to the late Mattie (Westrick) Rhinehart and James Jeffries.

Helen grew up on the southside of Indianapolis and attended Emmerich Manual High School. As a young adult, she started work at Shapiro’s Delicatessen with her sister, Mary. She eventually moved on to work at Western Electric from where she retired. Helen had a love of cooking and animals, and there were several special pets throughout her lifetime. Her robust personality made quite an impression on those whom she met. Just look out, when she decided to tell some of her jokes, riddles, or rhymes.

She is preceded in passing by her siblings – Earl Jeffries, Mary Jeffries, Bobbie Jeffries, and Betty Jean Curbeaux.

She is survived by her niece and nephews, Betty Jane Bumpas, Robin Curbeaux, and Bert Curbeaux, as well as great nieces and nephews and their children.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2-4pm on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Lake of the Pines’ clubhouse, west Indianapolis.
