Helen M. Graves, 84, of Indianapolis, passed away on February 17, 2018.
Helen was born on July 16, 1933 in Middlesboro, KY to the late Gaines Lewis and Catherine Melvina Marsee. She was a long-time member of Craigwood Congregation of Jehovah Witness, she was involved in many activities and cherished the friendships she made there. She was known for her bright smile, beautiful garden, and trying new things. Helen lived life to the fullest and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughter, Darlene Jones; grandson, John Jones; brother, Herbert H. Marsee (Iva Jean); sisters, Edith A. Brickley and Ella V. Earle (Troy); dog, Dolly; and cat, Vernard. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dan Ray Graves; sons, William Harold Graves and Tony Wray Graves; and brothers, Gaines Marsee and Earnest Doyle Marsee.
Friends and family are invited to gather from 10:00am-1:00pm on Saturday, February 24, 2018 with a funeral service to follow at 1:00pm. She will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Helen’s honor may be made to the American Cancer Society.
