Hazel Whitley

Hazel E. Whitley, 95, of Indianapolis, passed away October 11th, 2022. She was born June 15th, 1927, in Burksville, Kentucky to parents William and Emma (Gross) Capps.

Hazel married the love of her life and childhood sweetheart, Preston Whitley. They shared many wonderful years together. Preston passed away October 9th, 2003.

Hazel was a modest, loving woman. In her younger years, she enjoyed spending time with her husband, and helping him in their garden. She loved to shop and was Queen of the Coupons. Most days you could find her relaxing, reading or watching her soap operas. She adored her family and always enjoyed quality time with them.

She is survived by her cousins Jessie Capps, Valis Moore, Robbie Cox, Vicki, Carol Altmeyer, Malcolm Capps, Louise, Francis and Linda, and numerous other cousins, aunts and uncles.

Hazel is preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 22nd, at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East from 11-1pm. Her funeral will begin at 1pm.

She will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
