Harry Louis Green, Jr.

June 7, 1936 — April 12, 2021

Indianapolis, Indiana

Harry Louis Green Jr., 84, went to his heavenly home on Monday, April 12, 2021.

Born in Aurora, Illinois, on June 7, 1936, Harry served God and others in every season of his life — through his time in the U.S. Air Force, his career as a salesman, and his dedication as a faithful husband and devoted father. Full-time ministry with Youth for Christ brought Harry and his family from Georgia to Indiana in 1970, and he remained in Indianapolis for the rest of his life. Those who knew him knew he loved to fish, he never met a stranger, and he showed unwavering commitment to what he believed in. His light-hearted chuckle, enthusiastic storytelling, and generous spirit were his trademarks. To the end, his fierce love for God and steadfastness were evident to all, especially his beloved church family.

Harry is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty; his daughters Angela Boyd and Karen Whiteside (Bob); his niece Denise Phillips; his grandchildren Amanda Davis (Tim), Connor Whiteside, Ashton Stoffer (Kevin), and Kaitlin Dean (Skylar); and his great-grandchildren Andrew Davis, Luke Davis, Ella Davis, and Beckett Stoffer. He is preceded in death by his brother, Bill Green; his parents, Harry and Alice Green; and his sister, Marjorie Phillips.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 16 at 2:00 PM at Flanner Buchanan Decatur Township, 5463 Kentucky Ave. Indianapolis, IN with visitation there from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
