Hank retired from the field work at 70 and began the next phase of showing vintage cars. Hank joined the Piston Popper Car Club of Anderson, Indiana, ultimately leading to the presidency of the club. He was an avid hunter having several trophies mounted in his home and loved to shoot in competition with his sons.
