H.M. "Ruthie" Ruth

H.M. “Ruthie” Ruth, 99, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on October 18, 2018. She was born June 30, 1919 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Charles and Mary Ruth.

A lifetime Indianapolis resident, Ruthie graduated valedictorian from Emmerich Manual High School. She worked as a secretary for Merchant National Bank, a job she faithfully tended to for over 30 years until her retirement. Family was everything to Ruthie. She loved nothing more than doting on her 26 nieces and nephews; she even helped raise many of them with her sister-in-law, Margaret, after her brother’s passing. Margaret and Ruthie were exceptionally close as they lived as roommates for 62 years and helped take care of one another. She was an amazing sister, aunt, sister-in-law, and godmother, her passing leaves an empty space in the hearts of all of those who were blessed enough to meet her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary; siblings, Julie Goetzinger, Marc Ruth, Justin Ruth, and George Ruth, Sr. Surviving to cherish her memory are sister, Donna Ancelet; sister-in-law, Margaret Ruth; 26 nieces and nephews; many loving great nieces and nephews as well as many great-great nieces and nephews whom she cherished.

Family and friends are invited to visit Saturday, October 27 from 10-12 PM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1530 Union St, Indianapolis, IN 46225. A funeral mass will take place at 12 PM. Ruthie will be laid to rest immediately following services at St. Joseph Cemetery.
