Guy Madison East

December 9, 1959 — December 27, 2022

Westfield, Indiana

Guy Madison East, 63, of Westfield, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on December 27, 2022.

Born December 9, 1959 to his dear parents James & Allegra East in Redwood City, California. A 1978 North Central H.S. graduate, he went on to study and play football, at Purdue where he received degrees in Building Construction Management and Architectural Engineering. Furthering his pursuit of education, he earned a Masters of Science in Engineering Management from the Milwaukee School of Engineering.

Guy married his high school sweetheart, Marsha Palmer. In their nearly 40 years of marriage, their deep love for each other and faithful friendship has been an example to many, including their five beautiful children and spouses: Guy Eldon (Andrea), James Davidson (Kaytlin), Andrew Dean (Shawn), Christine Grace and Grant Madison (Zoe). His family, including his 8 grandchildren (and counting), will carry on his legacy. He is survived by his 3 siblings and 3 step siblings.

Guy loved the Lord, was dedicated to the scriptures, lived a life of integrity and did everything in his power to help others do the same. He was a family man, perpetually constructing ways to bless, encourage and teach his children and grandchildren. He took good care of everyone in his life, including his bees. He loved beekeeping.

During his career, Guy built hundreds of homes around the world and had deep passion to bless those for whom he built. He wore many hats through the years, serving a term as President of the Board of the Builders Association of Greater Indianapolis. Continually honing his craft, Guy built Indiana’s first LEED certified home and received several certifications including Master Builder. He was in the process of building a construction management software. A prolific writer, he recently finished his daily devotional BLUEPRINTS-The Plan of the Day from the Master Builder.

He wore the hats of a member of Truth at Work, Men’s Bible Study, Sigma Chi, Indiana Beekeepers and Toastmasters. To promote camaraderie and competition between large athletes, Guy founded Team Clydesdale.

Guy lived life to the fullest in every category: beekeeper, tradesman, author, innovator, entrepreneur, coach, volunteer, Eagle Scout, triathlete, pianist, Christ-follower, husband, Papa, father, and friend. He served with kindness and generosity, encouraging those around him to seek greatness, and he did everything in his power to help them achieve it.

One of his favorite verses was Joshua 1:9 – “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

As we celebrate his life, he celebrates from heaven with his mother, father and stepmother, Marilyn East, along with many others that he dearly loved.
