Griselda Petty

88, Indianapolis, passed away June 30, 2017. She was born in Brownsville, TX on January 28, 1929. Her parents both passed at an early age and Griselda was raised by Ramon and Martha Cavazos. Griselda, a consummate homemaker, had worked as an activity director in healthcare. She was kind and compassionate and always willing to lend a helping hand. She was devoted to her family and opened her home and heart to many over the years. She adored children, and in addition to her own children, she took on the role of mother to many children, who were all lucky to have her in their lives. Griselda was also very funny, always looking to have fun and enjoy a good laugh. She was a member of First Free Methodist Church.

Griselda was preceded in death by her parents; her adoptive parents, Ramon and Martha; and her husband, Donald Petty; and her son, Joey Petty. She is survived by her children: Eddie (Becky) Pena, Mary (Merrell) Todd, Michael Dunn, James (Toni) Dunn, Roger (Sherry) Dunn, David Gill, Jimbo Smith, Roy Chris (Terri) Dunn, Mauri Petty, Sam Dunn, Christina Petty, and Shawn Petty; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members and friends.

Friends may call from 4-8pm on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St, Indianapolis. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Thursday, July 6th at the funeral center. Entombment will be in Washington Park East Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Free Methodist Church, 1215 Techumseh St, Indianapolis, IN 46201.
