Gregory J. Walters

On Tuesday, December 14, 2021, Greg went home to be with the Lord. He was born on September 19, 1958 to Joseph R. and Carole Walters. On January 3, 1981 he married Sandy Hicks, the love of his life, and they had two boys Ryan and Chad. Placing his faith in the Lord that it was the right decision, Greg retired in January 2021 at the age of 62 after a 41-year career at a local medical laboratory.

Greg was a family man who enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family. Some of his favorite pastimes were spent with family fishing, playing cards, and watching the little ones’ sporting events (although he wasn’t much of a football fan!). He was very active in his sons’ lives and as a result became close with many of their friends who came to call him “Pops”. He was also very close with his in-laws and thought of them as true family.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law and best friend, Bill. Greg is survived by his wife Sandy, sons Ryan and Chad, brother Chris, sister Donna (Bill) Fletcher, mother-in-law Jan Hicks, and his brothers-in-law Randy (Cathy) Hicks, Ron (Lisa) Hicks, and Don (Gina) Hicks. He is also survived and loved by numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Though gone from this world, his love for all of us will live forever in our hearts and memories because no one could have loved us better.
