Gregory Gene Stephens

Gregory Gene Stephens, 64, of Indianapolis, passed away May 20, 2021. He was born April 21, 1957 to the late Orlando Gene and Maggie (Newsome) Stephens in Huntington, Indiana.

Gregory was an avid fisherman and in more recent years had many fond memories of visiting Eagle Creek reservoir with his wife Sueanne. In his earlier years, he made many trips down to Monroe Lake in Bloomington where he would sit at the water’s edge for hours fishing and enjoying Brown County’s nature. He also loved music and was an animal lover.

He is survived by his beloved wife Sueanne Marie Coulter Stephens; children, Jodi Stephens (Tina McCoin) of Warren, IN, and Miranda Retana (Kelly Robinson) of Huntington, IN; step- son, Travis Welker of Huntington, IN;  grandchildren Cayden Retana, Malakai Cook, and Remeigh Robinson; sister, Sherry (Bobbie Sutton) Stephens of Huntington, IN; brother-in-law, Douglas Coulter; and sister-in-law, Cattina Coulter, both of Terre Haute, IN.

Gregory is preceded in death by his parents and two beloved grandchildren, Draven Retana and Nevaeh Cook.
