Grant Charles Gibbs

Grant Charles Gibbs, 85, Carmel, passed away September 17, 2020. He was born in Denver, CO to George and Marguerite (Peake) Gibbs. After graduating high school, Grant went on to attend both the University of Denver and the University of Colorado in Boulder. He was a proud member of Kappa Sigma fraternity and an Army veteran of the Korean War. He enjoyed a lifetime career in the insurance business, working the last 30 years with American States Insurance. He was an avid and skilled golfer throughout his life, maintaining a low handicap and won many tournaments through the years. His crowning achievement was two holes in one in one month. Grant enjoyed art and history, committing to lifelong learning. After retiring, he enjoyed tutoring at College Wood Elementary in Carmel, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Sandra, son Gregory (Lauren), grandchildren, Garen and Gustan,  brother, Guy (Joan), three nieces and two nephews, Georgeann, Gretchen, Genny, Gregory and Geoffrey.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be offered in Grant’s name to The Media Center, College Wood Elementary, 12415 Shelborne Road, Carmel, Indiana  46032.
