Glyndon "Glen" Short

Glyndon “Glen” Short, 90, of Indianapolis, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018.

He was born on April 8, 1927 in Richmond, KY to the late Macy and Pauline (Rhodus) Short.  Glen attended Paris Crossing High School before joining the US Navy at the age of 17.  Following his discharge, he returned home and finished his high school education, graduating in 1947.  It was there that he met the love of his life, Charlotte Joseph; they were married in August of 1951. Glen helped support his family by working as a Supervisor with Chrysler, retiring after 30 years of service in 1983.  Following his retirement he took a part-time job with H&R Block in Greenfield.   Glen also had time to golf with friends and take fishing trips; he and Charlotte travelled all over the world.  He was a diehard Cubs fan, and enjoyed supporting Warren Central Athletics.  Glen and Charlotte were also longtime members of Emerson Ave. Baptist Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Charlotte; children, Randall (Mary) Short, Kevin (Donna) Short, Leslie (Paul) Spencer; 8 grandchildren, Stephanie Koehler, Jennifer Short, Erin (Lyle) Henning, Kristen Rogers, Brian (Stacee) Short, Katherine (Jon) Forsthoff, Joseph (Caitlin) Spencer, Zachary (Diana) Short; 2 great-grandchildren, Lucas Rogers and Ellie Short.  Glen is also survived by a sister, Elsie.  He was preceded in death by son, Stephen J. Short; and brothers, James Buril Short and Eldon Short.

Visitation for Glen will be held on Friday, January 26, 2018 at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East from 4-7pm.  Funeral services will take place Saturday morning at 11am, also in the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Richard L.
