Gloria Jean Wilson, 74, of Indianapolis passed away on December 26, 2023. She was born on December 19, 1949, in Indianapolis, Indiana to parents, Rollo Weston and Mary Hampton. Gloria could best be remembered for her selfless nature. She’d drop everything to be there for anyone. She cared for others wellbeing more often than her own. Gloria was a very “crafty” lady. You could find her at the Dollar Tree getting more supplies to make handmade creations most likely for her family. Gloria loved crocheting and gardening. You could also find her at the Euchre table, frustrating her opponents by flawlessly played hands. Gloria wore many hats: mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend. There is no doubt that her proudest accomplishment was her family. She enjoyed every minute she had with them—especially her grandchildren. Gloria was compassionate, she was understanding; Gloria was the glue that held her family together. She will be missed terribly by all the lives she has touched.
Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, Rollo Weston and Mary Hampton; her husband, Dean Wilson; her brother, Stanley Weston; and her granddaughter, Avery Johnson.
She is survived by her children, Dean Wilson, Dustin Wilson, Debra Johnson (Brandon), and Jeremy Wilson (Holly); her grandchildren, Dylan Johnson, Kaydence Johnson, and Easton Johnson; her great granddaughter, Claire Wilson; and her uncle, Jack Weston.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, from 11AM-1PM at Flanner Buchanan—Memorial Park, 9350 E. Washington St. Indianapolis, Indiana 46229. A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 1PM. Gloria will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gloria’s honor to the American Heart Association.
