IN LOVING MEMORY OF GLORIA (LEHMANN) MCCARTNEY, 1961-2024
We honor a truly special woman of God who was born on March 3, 1961. Gloria, along with her husband Rick, serve as pastors of Peniel Pentecostal Church associated with the Assemblies of God Great Britain in Glynneath, Wales UK. Gloria suddenly and unexpectedly entered her eternal reward on June 9, 2024.
Gloria was the beloved daughter of David E. Lehmann and Lois V. (Griffin) Lehmann of Brooklyn, OH who preceded her in death. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and minister of the Gospel.
She is survived by her loving husband and ministry partner, Richard (Rick) McCartney, with whom she shared a deep bond of love and faith. Together, they dedicated their lives to serving others and spreading the hope of Jesus wherever they went. Rick and Gloria were married on June 11, 1983, in Cleveland, OH. They were a team in the truest sense, enjoying over 40 years of fruitful ministry together.
Gloria's legacy continues through her son, Joshua (Sabrina) McCartney of Franklin, IN. Joshua was the light of her life, and she took immense pride in watching him grow into a wonderful young adult.
She is also survived by her brother David E. (Debra) Lehmann Jr. of Brooklyn, OH, her sister Yvonne Ramos of Strongsville, OH, and her nieces Melissa Gawelek and Brianna Balogh.
In addition to her immediate family members already mentioned, Gloria joined her beloved nephew Dustin Ramos from Strongsville, OH, inside the pearly gates of Heaven upon her passing.
Rick and Gloria are Ordained Ministers who have served with the Assemblies of God World Missions for over a decade. Prior to their call to ministry in Wales, the McCartneys served as missionaries in Malta. They have pastored in several US States over the years. Rick and Gloria also gave great efforts in ministry to the students of Western Kentucky University with the Assemblies of God U.S. Missions. Gloria's passion for Jesus, professional background as an educator, gift for teaching, preaching and keen spiritual giftings made her a bright light among those who needed to hear the gospel. She was happy, cheerful and loved her family with her whole heart.
Gloria was instrumental in bringing The INSPIRE Global Sisterhood to the country of Wales and raised up many leaders who will further the movement. This international Assemblies of God women's movement orchestrates special events that truly INSPIRE. By honoring and empowering women, hundreds have been saved, baptized in the Spirit and launched into ministry because of Gloria's vision and tireless efforts. The INSPIRE vision to reach the "NEXT girl" had truly become Gloria's passion.
If you would like to see Gloria's passion for INSPIRE to go even further, an INSPIRE Scholarship fund has been created in Gloria's honor. Donations can be made, in lieu of flowers and plants to the Gloria McCartney INSPIRE Global Sisterhood Scholarship Memorial Fund, which will provide scholarships for girls, ages 8 to 108, to attend future INSPIRE events.
