Gloria Ann Kafoure left our world on July 21, 2021, at the age of 95. Born in Monessen, Pennsylvania, to immigrant parents from Syria on August 9, 1925, she moved to Indianapolis to be near her two eldest sisters. She lived the remainder of her life in Indianapolis where she met her husband after WWII. They had two children. Gloria had strong faith and was a devoted member of St. George Orthodox Church in Indianapolis where she sang in the choir and led the teen club for many years. You could always find Gloria in her kitchen whipping up delicious Middle Eastern dishes, something she truly loved to do. Later in life she was a library volunteer at John Strange Elementary School and the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. To her four grandchildren she was known as Sitti (Arabic for grandmother) and they were the light of her life. She was always involved in their activities, making wonderful memories for them. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mike and Jamili John, husband, Edward, son in law, Jeff Klivansky, three sisters, Elizabeth, Selma, Norma, two brothers Norman and Sam. She is survived by her son, Charles, daughter, Denise Klivansky, grandchildren, Christina Nash (Chris), David, Jake Klivansky (Nikki), Jordan Klivansky and two great-grandchildren, Mirielle and Madeline Nash, as well as many other special nieces and nephews. Our family is grateful for the many wonderful years we had with her, and that she lived a long, healthy life. Her funeral will be held on Monday, July 26, at Flanner Buchanan-Broad Ripple.
