Glenna Marie (Kivett, Young) Carter 91, of Indianapolis, IN peacefully passed away in her sleep on January 4, 2021. She was born on a farm in Pulaski County, Kentucky on December 25, 1929 to the late Lloyd and Amy Jane (Neely) Young. She was the middle child in her family of 9 brothers and 4 sisters. Glenna retired from General Motors Truck and Bus. She was a long-time member of Oak Park Baptist Church, and member of the UAW Local#23. She was a cherished, loved and revered, Sister-In-Law, Aunt, Neighbor and Friend to many and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Glenna is survived by her son, Richard W. Kivett, grandchildren, Richard A. (April D.) Kivett, Brandon (April D.) Douglas, great grandchildren, Lydia Kivett, Ian Kivett, Ada Kivett, , Elam Douglas, sister, Rosetta Hall and brothers, Ray Young and G.M. Young. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands, Adolphus A. Kivett whom she was married to for 26 years, Gail A. Carter whom she was married to for 40 years, her son Alan Kivett, 2 sisters and 7 brothers. Services for Glenna will be private due to the COVID-19 restrictions. She will be laid to rest at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Hall, Indiana. Being a Stage 4 Alzheimer’s patient, the family humbly request in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to any Alzheimer’s charity of your choice. The family would sincerely like to thank all those who helped with Glenna’s care and for all the kindness and concern.
