Glenn Roberts, 83, of Carmel, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ and his beloved wife, Barbara, on February 20. Glenn was born February 6, 1938, in Somerset, KY. He and his family moved to Dayton, Ohio, when he was a boy. Glenn graduated from Beavercreek High School, where he played varsity football, and played football for another year at Southern Methodist University before joining the U.S. Marine Corp. In 1961, he went on a blind date with Barbara Lewis to see Johnny Mathis in concert. The two-hour concert resulted in 57 years of marriage, during which the couple was blessed with five children.
Glenn started his film production career in 1968 with Film Productions of Indianapolis, a film production company later known as Producers International Corporation. The company went on to produce many commercials, corporate videos, documentaries, and movies. His notable projects include work with Danny Thomas and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis; “If You Cried, You Died,” a Holocaust survivor documentary; and “Private Victories,” a youth-oriented film about substance abuse. He is credited with starting and influencing many film production careers in the Indianapolis area.
Glenn’s faith in the Lord was unwavering throughout his life. He was involved in Second Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis for many years before joining Christ Community Presbyterian Church in Carmel. He participated in many mission projects, from the Great Banquet in Indianapolis, to leading private Bible study in his home and two trips to China to bring Bibles to the population there. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Glenn is survived by daughter Kathleen Roach (Joe), sons Christopher Roberts (Yve), Bryan Roberts, and Matthew Roberts (Lori); daughter Danielle James (Kevin); 14 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara, and his parents, Cressel and Edith Roberts.
