Glenn C. Greenlee, age 83, LTC, US Army (Retired), died on March 10, 2021, at Westminster Village Health Center in Indianapolis, IN.
Glenn was born in Breckenridge, Texas on March 18, 1937 to the late Claude and Mary Greenlee. He received his Bachelor Degree from Texas A&M University in 1959 and was a Distinguished Military Graduate in the Reserve Officer Training Corp (ROTC). He received a Master Degree from Ball State University in 1979. On July 1, 1961, he was united in marriage with Barbara Miles in Louisville, KY.
Colonel Greenlee had a 21 year Army career, retiring in 1982. He served in Vietnam, where he received the Bronze Star for meritorious service in that combat theatre. Following his retirement from the Army, he had a second career at the Indiana Department of Transportation. He retired after working there 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Barbara Miles Greenlee. He is survived by his son, Jack, and his wife Sandra, and his son, Matt, and his wife Stephanie; and four granddaughters, Emma, Anna, Julia, Cecelia. He was preceded in death by brothers Stewart and Don, and his sister Margie.
Funeral services will be held at Flanner Buchanan-Oaklawn Memorial Gardens (Conner Suite), 9700 Allisonville Rd. Indianapolis, on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at 11 a.m., preceded by visitation starting at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, Carmel, IN, or to The Service Club of Indianapolis.
