Glenda Gay Sims

Glenda Gay Sims, 58, of Indianapolis, passed away January 4^th,2022. She was born in Indianapolis July 15^th, 1963 to parents Billie Max and Norma (Cox) Woods.

Glenda graduated from Warren Central High School where she met the love of her life, Michael Sims.

She and Michael shared 44 wonderful years together.

Glenda worked as a bakery associate for Kroger for over 20 years, a job she excelled at and enjoyed.

Glenda was a lovely, strong woman with a warm, empathetic personality. She had a soft spot for animals, especially dogs. Nothing made her happier than supporting and caring for her family and spending time with her loved ones. In her free time, you could find Glenda lounging in the sun, reading a good book for hours. She and Michael enjoyed their vacations to sunny Florida. Glenda was an excellent baker and provided her famous desserts for most family functions.

She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, Gigi, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Glenda is survived by her husband Michael; her daughter Shelby Sims (Zachary) Dearinger; granddaughter Paisley Faye Dearinger; sister Hollie Wilson; brother-in-law Jon Sims; Sister-in-law Regina Walters; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Brent Woods; brother-in-law Earl Lesle Sims; and her parent in laws Earl and Evelyn Sims.

Visitation for Glenda will be Saturday January 8^th, at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East, from 11:30-1:30. Her funeral will begin at 1:30. She will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
