Gladys Christine (Estes) Maple, 93, of Avon, IN peacefully passed away on July 6, 2022. She was born February 13,1929 in Irvine, Kentucky to the late Cornelius and Minnie (Richardson) Estes, who had nine children.
She was married to the love of her life, Robert Maple, for over 50 years. He preceded her in passing on October 6, 1999. Gladys was also preceded in death by her son Jerry, along with two brothers and two sisters.
She lived most of her life in Indianapolis, IN as a homemaker in the Eagledale area. Gladys was part of close-knit family. She especially enjoyed spending time with many of her siblings, fondly known as “the-gang”, who lived nearby. Her hobbies included gardening, antiquing, and going to yard sales to find bargains on household and clothing items.
Gladys was a woman of deep faith and recently attended Chapel Rock Christian Church in Indianapolis. She is survived by her children Jennifer (Bob) Stine and Mark (Wendy) Maple; grandchildren Greg (Cathy) Nix, Christi (Jeremy) Marsh, Jennifer (Alex) Cadman, and Jessica (Jerry) Kincaid; and seven great-grandchildren.
Gladys’ family and friends will celebrate her life on Wednesday, July 13, 2022, with visitation starting at 10 am at Flanner-Buchanan – Speedway at 2950 N. High School Road, Indianapolis, IN. The funeral service will begin at 11 am. Burial will follow at West Ridge Park Cemetery in Indianapolis.
