Gina Capri Covington

February 10, 1957 — November 3, 2018

Indianapolis, Indiana

Gina Capri Covington was born in Lafayette, IN at Home Hospital on 10 February 1957 but lived her entire life in Indianapolis. She attended Pike Township Schools. She loved her stuffed animals, music, DVDs, fish and eating out. Gina participated in Special Olympics and camping every year, and especially enjoyed Camp Millhouse in South Bend, IN. She attended St. Andrew Presbyterian Church and worked most of her life at Noble Industries.

Gina passed away peacefully in her sleep with great memories of her recent trip to Disney World with her sister, Erika Dawn Steuterman, and friend, Lauren, from New Hope of Indiana (NHI), her service provider. NHI and staff took wonderful care of Gina and gave her a meaningful life which is important for everyone, but especially for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Gina had a wonderful time at the prom the night before she passed away, dressed to the teeth in a red (her favorite color) sparkly dress, shimmery shawl and mink coat, and decked out in her new Disney jewels!

Gina is survived by her mother, Phyllis Covington: sister, Erika Dawn (Ron) Steuterman; and brother, Steven, all of West Lafayette, IN. She loved her nieces, Erin and Jessica, with all her heart.

Memorial contributions may be made to New Hope of Indiana, 8450 N. Payne Rd #300, Indianapolis, IN 46268.

Visitation will be on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Flanner Buchanan-Zionsville, 105 W. Pine St., from 11am-1pm, with the service immediately following. Burial will take place at Lincoln Memory.
