Gerda P. Miller

Gerda P. Miller, 84 of Indianapolis, passed away on Friday February 5, 2021. She was born on January 10, 1937 in Berlin, Germany to the late Erich and Charlotte Panser. Gerda cherished her German roots. She came to Indianapolis in 1975 and made it her home.  She had a varied career through the years until she went to work at the Heidelberg Haus Café in Indianapolis where she stayed for over 30 years until she retired at the age of 77. She loved working there and truly enjoyed the owners, co-workers and customers, especially the “regulars”.

She was devoted to her family and especially her grandchildren who were the joy of her life. Gerda enjoyed growing flowers in her garden, crocheting and going to craft shows. She was full of energy and loved to keep busy.

Gerda is survived by her daughter, Sylvia (Ron) Hungerford; grandchildren, Erica and Douglas Hungerford; brother, Burkhard; sister, Roswitha; and many nieces and nephews still in Germany. She is preceded in passing by her husband of 31 years, Wayne B. Miller; brother, Gerhardt; and sister, Emmi.

Friends and family are invited to gather beginning at 3:00 pm on Monday February 15, 2021 at Flanner Buchanan – Geist (7855 Cork Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46236), followed by a funeral service at 4:00 pm.
