Geraldine Marie Ehrsam, 85 of Avon, IN passed away on November 17, 2017. Geraldine was born on April 13, 1932 in Fort Wayne, IN to the late Paul and Margaret Coyne. Geraldine graduated from Monroeville High school in 1950. Geraldine married Rex Allen Ehrsam in 1955, who preceded her in death. Geraldine worked for the U.S. Post office until her retirement. Geraldine’s hobbies included crocheting, reading, and game playing, including bingo and cards. Geraldine belonged to Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Red Hat Society, Heritage Lake Euchre Club, and the Senior Center. Geraldine was preceded in passing by her parents; husband; son, James A. Ehrsam; and her brothers, Eugene, Robert, Kenneth and Paul Coyne Jr. Geraldine is survived by sons, Michael (Deborah) and Eric (Becky) Ehrsam; daughters, Julia (Kerry) Wafford, Angela (Dennis) Lofton, and Mary (Robert) Phillips; her sister, Mary Brickley; sister-in-laws,Leanette and Mary Ellen Coyne; and several nieces and nephews. Geraldine also had 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Monday, November 20th, 2017 from 4 to 5 p.m. for family and 5 to 8 p.m. for friends and acquaintances at Flanner Buchanan – Speedway, 2950 N. High School Road, Speedway, IN, 46224. Services will be Tuesday, November 21st, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Mary, Queen of Peace Church, 1005 W Main Street, Danville, IN 46122. A meal will immediately follow the service at the church. Interment will then follow the meal at West Ridge Park Cemetery.
