Geraldine -Gerry- Ponto

Geraldine “Gerry” (Domes) Ponto, age 82, of Indianapolis, passed away April 9, 2017. She was born on November 13, 1934 in McDowell County, North Carolina as the daughter of Glenn Domes and Ida Mae Elliott. She graduated from Arsenal Technical High School in 1953. After high school, she married Virgil Joseph Ponto.

Gerry worked for Thomas & Skinner for many years before retiring. She enjoyed spending time with her family and watching sports games, especially the Colts.

Gerry is survived by her children, David Ponto, Debbie Cornn and Donna (Mike) Berry; 7 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. Gerry was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil; parents, Glenn and Ida Mae; and her sister, Delores.

A visitation will be held on Monday, April 17, 2017 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229. A funeral service will immediately follow visitation at 1 p.m. also at the funeral center. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
