Geraldine "Gerry" Ann Glasscott

Geraldine “Gerry” Ann Glasscott, 78, of Carmel, Indiana, passed away on May 11, 2022. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, on September 17, 1943, to the late Emery and Mae Gasperec.

Gerry will be fondly remembered for her love of Florida, gardening, sports, and family. Moving to Venice in retirement allowed her to dig in the dirt throughout the year and keep an active lifestyle. She enjoyed all four seasons and was always trimming, planting, or cultivating in her yard. Enjoying time with friends walking The Lakes of Jacaranda, shopping on The Island or heading to the beach were staples of her weekly routine.

Her love for sports began at an early age and led to her professional career as an educator in physical education. Spending her days teaching carried over to her two sons, Mike and Brian, as she was the coach and teacher at home. Always ready for a game of catch or a lesson of tennis, her love of the games spread to the boys. From basketball gyms to hockey rinks, she was always their biggest fan. She was an excellent volleyball player, golfer and tennis ace who enjoyed following the Indiana Hoosiers, Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs and “the golf”, especially her visits to Augusta National Golf Club.

Gerry was preceded in death by her loving husband Michael and is survived by her brother Emery (Bernadine), nephew Tom (Anne), sons Brian (Kristen) and Mike (Joana) Glasscott, granddaughters Maria Glasscott, Maya Mason and Gisele Mason, grandson Michael Glasscott III and many nieces and nephews and their children.

Visitation will be Friday, May 20, from 10 am to 12 noon, at Flanner Buchanan – Carmel, 325 E. Carmel Drive.
