Geraldine Etta Marie Hubert

Geraldine E. Hubert, 92, of Fishers, Indiana joined Our Lord in Heaven when she passed away peacefully of natural causes at her home.
Gerri, as a woman of strong faith, taught her large family and many friends that He is always present to support us. She celebrated life and reminded everyone who knew her to celebrate as well. There was not a holiday for which she did not decorate everything, which became a personal trademark.
She touched everyone who knew her, encouraging others to be better people tomorrow than today. As a staff member at Lamb’s Farm in Libertyville, IL, she showed us all how to make a difference in others’ lives and to respect all people, especially those with developmental disabilities. While she had other jobs, this was her defining position, outside of her family.
Gerri was a loving daughter to Mary H. Sagert Gillessen and Henry Gillessen, Sr., her parents who preceded her in death as did her brothers and sister: James Gillessen(Shirley, dec.), Donald Gillessen (Donna, dec.), Robert Gillessen, and Margaret Nettles (Harold, dec.). She was also preceded in death by husbands Otto Amann, Robert Hubert and former husband, Robert Yanda.
Her absolute Faith was shown when four of her children died: Thomas Yanda (Debbie, dec.), Sheryl Eccles, Patricia Byington and Kristine Vance (Mike, dec.). The graces of God helped her through the additional losses of a grandson, great-grandson, two nieces, two nephews and lifelong friend Dorothy Kastern (Anthony, dec.).
She is survived by her children Kathleen Allborty (Horace) and Roberta Wilson (Daniel); sister Mary Christine Banaszak (Joseph, dec.); brothers Charles Gillessen (Patricia, dec.) and Henry Gillessen, Jr. (Sharon), seven grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Robynn and Kathy ask that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church St. Nicholas Fund to share her joy in celebrating Christmas with more families. The address is 11441 Hague Rd, Fishers, IN 46038.

The family is so grateful to the St. Vincent Ascension Hospice team, especially Andrea, Cerise, Cindy and Carol, for the extraordinary care given since February.
Funeral plans are Mass at 10:30 a.m. on July 21, 2020 at St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church with inurnment following at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, 9700 Allisonville Rd, Indianapolis. Please come prepared as masks will be required.
