Geraldene M. Sterrett

Geraldene Sterrett, of Indianapolis and Brownsburg, Indiana, died September 7, 2019 at the age of 94. She was born October 26, 1924 in Lafayette, Indiana to Effie (Zook) and Herman Hendricks. Geraldene married Floyd Sterrett on May 27, 1951 and became a stay at home mom to raise her five children. Afterwards, she worked at Eastbrook Elementary School in the cafeteria for 10 years before retiring.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Floyd in 2007; and a half-brother, Bud Hendricks and his wife Thelma.
Geraldene is survived by: her daughters, Linda Sterrett and Cheryl (Dick) McDowell; sons, Michael (Mary Kay) Sterrett, Jeff (Suzie) Sterrett, and Bryan (Rita) Sterrett; as well as seven grandchildren: Cameron Sterrett, Jennifer (Eric) Smith, Heather Sterrett, Kimberly Sterrett, J.T. Sterrett, Hannah McDowell, and Abigail McDowell.

Visitation will be held at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd. W. Dr., Indianapolis, on Saturday, October 12, 2019 from 12-1pm with services beginning at 1pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the animal rescue charity, ASPCA.
