Gerald Glen Shortridge

Gerald Glen Shortridge, 87 a longtime resident of Speedway, IN passed away January 4, 2021. He was born April 24, 1933 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Glen Charles and Hester B. (Foxworthy) Shortridge. Gerald was retired from General Motors as a Machinist after many years. He also was the former owner of Indianapolis Vent and Air Company. He was a member and Past Master of Northwest Lodge #770 F&AM, Lifetime Member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and Past Master of Bartimaeus U. D. Lodge F&AM. He was loved and will be missed by all who knew him. Gerald is survived by his children, Glenda (Bob) Russell, Rita Roush, Joseph (Joan) Shortridge, 3 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 5 step great grandchildren, his brother Michael (Vickie) Shortridge. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ruth (Humphrey) Shortridge, whom he was married to for 63 years, and step-mother Betty Shortridge, and a sister and a brother. Service will be Private, and he will be laid to rest at Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield, Indiana.  The family requests in lieu of flowers to direct memorial gifts to the Alzheimer’s Association.
