Georgette B. (Court) Hartman, 86, of Pendleton, Indiana passed away on November 20, 2021. She was born on February 26, 1935 to the late George and Florence Court in Indramajoe, Indonesia.
After briefly meeting a handsome service man who was stationed in the Dutch East Indies (now Indonesia), Georgette’s family fled to Holland during the Japanese occupation. It was in Holland where Georgette and the handsome service man – Herman Hartman – became reacquainted and began their love story. After several years in Holland, both immigrated to the United States, married, and began a family in the Indianapolis area. Although Herman passed away in 1988, Georgette never remarried because he was the love of her life.
She is survived by her children – Randy (Wanda) Hartman, Rick (Kim) Hartman, Clifford Hartman, and Lorraine Linkous, as well as a sister, Edith (Bob) Cummings; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herman Hartman; her sister, Eleanor Graat, and her brother, James Court.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 26th from 11am to 1pm at St Lawrence Catholic Church, 6944 E. 46th St., Lawrence, IN 46226. A funeral mass will follow visitation at 1pm. She will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
