George W. Peace

George William Peace, 81, of Indianapolis, passed away March 26^th, 2023. He was born in Indianapolis to parents Forest and Catherine (Eckel) Peace.

George grew up in Indy and graduated from Arsenal Tech high school.

In 1961, George married the love of his life, Ruth Copp. They shared 61 wonderful years together.

He worked as a tool maker for Navistar Inc for many years before retiring.

George was a strong, loving gentleman. He and his wife Ruth enjoyed road trips and traveling, and frequently made the drive down to Gatlinburg. George had a strong interest in vehicles and motors, especially hit and miss engines. He was very proud of his 1924 Model T and loved cruise-ins and car shows. George was a collector and was always looking for the next neat antique.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

George is survived by his wife Ruth; his sons Jeff Peace and Kenny (Kim) Peace; his granddaughter and ray of sunshine Kaylee Peace; siblings Roy Peace and Florence (Rod Coons) Peace; and nephew Joe Peace.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his niece Jaime Peace.

George will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
