George W. Morris

George W. Morris, 83, of Greenfield, passed away on October 27, 2018.

George was born on February 22, 1935 in LaGrange, Kentucky to the late William and Lillian Morris. He graduated from high school and honorably served his country in the United States Navy. He worked as a printing foreman for Naval Avionics for over 30 years and following his retirement, owned Mini Pub with his wife Wilma. George loved being outdoors; camping, fishing, hunting, and working around his property were some of his favorite activities. He loved traveling and spending time in Florida. He was very social and enjoyed spending time with his friends at one of the many clubs he belonged to. Above all, the most important thing to George was his family, he was the best, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be dearly missed by those who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Judith Ann Morris; grandchildren, Dustin Wise and Calen Wise; parents, William and Lillian Morris, and 7 siblings.

George leaves behind his wife, Wilma S. Morris; children, Tammy Herrin (James), Ron Cook, Cathy Carpenter (Michael), Candy Padgett (Kevin), Roger Cook (Lisa); grandchildren, Michelle Elsbury (Paul), April Hagman (Thomas), Lee Herrin (Christy), Samantha Herrin, Donovan Wise, Cole Padgett, Quinn Padgett, Kade Padgett, Rebecca Cook, Jessica Cook, Dustin McNatt; 8 great-grandchildren; siblings, Naomi Sipes and Brent Morris; and sister-in-law, Linda Fletcher.

Friends and family are invited to gather from 10:00am-2:00pm on Friday, November 2, 2018 at Flanner Buchanan- Washington Park East, with a funeral service to follow at 2:00pm. He will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
