George G. Smith

George G. Smith of Indianapolis entered eternal rest on October 28, 2018 at the age of 71. He was born November 15, 1946 in Stanford, Kentucky to the late Glancie Smith and Mary Ann Sterns Smith. He spent much of his career as a pipefitter at and educator retiring after 19 years at GM. He will be remembered as a great father, grandpa, and great-grandpa. He is survived by wife Sharon Rose Smith, his children Tessie Layne (Harold), Carmen Davis (Ryan), Tammy George (Dalton), Tiffany Pardue (Bradley), George Smith (Misty), Robbi Smith, Jordan Smith (Pete), and Shaye Naugle (John); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as his brother Jerry Smith (Joyce). George was preceded in death by his daughter Candy Smith, parents Glancie Smith and Mary Ann Sterns Smith, and his step-mother Emma Smith. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 31 from 4 PM to 8 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St, Indianapolis. Funeral Services will be held 2 PM Thursday, November 1 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery. George loved Halloween, and the family invites any children attending the visitation to come in costume.
