George F. “Frank” Kirk, age 88 of Indianapolis, passed away on May 1, 2017. He was born February 17, 1929 in Decatur Township to Homer and Mabel Hancock Kirk, who precede him in death. Frank graduated from Decatur Central High School and served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked for Eli Lilly as a Plumber-Pipefitter for 37 ½ years, retiring in 1990. While employed at Lilly, he also did work in Ireland. He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. He enjoyed going to the races, photography, videography, gold panning and playing ping pong.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years, Audrey Cain Kirk, his children, Cindy (Jerry) Hooser, Jim (Lisa) Kirk and Rick Kirk, his brothers, Albert, Jack and Byron Kirk, 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit from 11 AM to service time at 1 PM Friday, May 5, 2017 at Flanner and Buchanan – Decatur Township, 5463 Kentucky Avenue, Indianapolis. Contributions may be sent in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association. Friends may sign Frank’s online guest registry at www.flannerbuchanan.com.
