George A. Wethington

George Alfred Wethington, 82, passed away May 15, 2022, at home in Indianapolis. He was born February 22, 1940, in Lebanon, Indiana, to Alfred Sidas and Bernice Ruth (Ward) Wethington.

After graduating from Pinnell High School, George served honorably in the United States Air Force. Throughout the rest of his life, he was a plumber working for Sullivan and Poore as a foreman in charge of all the work they did at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 440. When not working he enjoyed time with his family and golfing at Cool Lake Golf Club.

He is survived by his children Catherine Danette (Edward) Nathman, Scott Allen Wethington, and Brent Eric (Melissa) Wethington; and his brother Robert Dean Wethington.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 49 years Madge (Puckett) Wethington; and his sisters Dorothy Evelyn Nicely, Margaret Ann True, Edna Mae Copenhaver, and Rita Rae Thompson, and Jeanette Wethington.
