Geneva Hortense Strong

Geneva Hortense Strong, 102, of Carmel passed away August 15, 2024. She was born January 28, 1922, in Racoon Township, Indiana the daughter of the late Harold R. and Ruby June (Pence) Overpeck.

Geneva attended Indiana University, where she met the love of her life, Charles Strong. They were married on December 27, 1941. He preceded her in passing on February 18, 1987. She was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, loved playing golf at Hillcrest Country Club with her many friends and continued playing doubles tennis well into her 90’s.

She is survived by two sons, Douglas Strong and William (Sandra) Strong; three grandchildren, Ryan (Katina) Strong, Fletcher (Samantha) Strong, Meredith Strong (Salvatore) Bucaro; and seven great grandchildren: Lucy Strong, Jack Strong, Tatum Strong, Riley Strong, Eden Strong, Leonardo Bucaro and Luca Bucaro.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Flanner Buchanan – Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Luke's UMC located at 100 W. 86th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46260.
