Gary Lee Mccoy

Gary Lee McCoy passed away on December 24th, 2022, from complications of cancer.

Gary was born on June 16, 1960, to Donald McCoy and Carol June Thomas (Ballbach) in Greenfield, IN. After Gary graduated from Eastern Hancock High School, he went on to study at Indiana University. Before entering into the sales field, Gary worked for St. Elmo’s where he enjoyed working with great co-workers to serve famous athletes, celebrities, and his fellow Hoosiers.

In 1989, Gary met Gretchen in Indianapolis. Gary and Gretchen wed and went on to have two sons, Christian and Jacob.

Gary retired this year, 2022, from UnitedHealthcare.  During his life he enjoyed fishing, taking care of his lawn. spending time with his family, and at the end caring for his grand dog. An avid sports fan, Gary enjoyed watching his two favorite teams, the Cincinnati Reds and the Chicago Bears. Outside of hobbies, Gary enjoyed serving the Church and took pride in sharing the Word of God.

Gary was predeceased by his parents as well as his sister Kathleen Holliday. He is survived by his wife Gretchen, his sons, and nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held December 31, 2022, from 9am to 11am at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 15605 Ditch Road, Westfield, IN, followed by a funeral service at 11am.  In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
