Gary Lee Hatalla of Indianapolis passed away May 7, 2021 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 80.
He was born to the late Thomas and Anna Mae Hatalla in Virden, Illinois.
After High School he served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1968. He spent his career as a Bus Driver working for Smith Bus Services, Dekalb, and Pony Express. He later served as a security guard for AT&T before his retirement. He was a hard-working simple man who loved his family fiercely.
He is survived by his wife Kathy L. Hatalla; daughter Nicole Snyder (Derek); grandchildren Isabelle, Madison, and Reagan Snyder; step-daughter Diane Baer; step-grandchildren Katie Baer, Zachary Lael, and Kelcie Baer; and siblings Judy Bartolazzi (Bob), Auburn, IL; Barb Wonaroski, Girard, IL; Dave Hatalla (Debbie), Virden, IL; Pamela Rees, Hamel, IL; and Rhonda Wills (Lowell), Virden, IL.
He was preceded in death by siblings Tom Hatalla, Ron Hatalla, and Jackie Hammann.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, May 24 at 11 AM in Flanner Buchanan – Speedway, 2950 N. High School Road, Indianapolis.
