Gary L. Brooks of Indianapolis passed away December 23, 2019 at the age of 77 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born February 10, 1942 in Illinois. He went to work for Chrysler where he retired after 38 years and was a UAW member. A Beagle enthusiast, he raised and ran “Blue Boogie” beagles in field trials.
He is survived by his mother Lorene “Frankie” Bishop and step-dad Bob Bishop; children Angela Butrum (Bryon), Tina Barham (Tom), and Tim Brooks (Stephanie); grandchildren Brian Vincent, Brandon Butrum (Keely), Tabitha Tallman (Jerad), Dustin New, Timi Leeanne Brooks, Dylan Brooks, and Peyton Brooks; great-grandchildren Emma Vincent, Allysa Butrum, Baxter Butrum, Bryce Tallman, Deacon Tallman, and Talen Tallman; and first wife and mother of his children Iva M. Brooks.
He was preceded in death by wife Marjorie Brooks; father Frank Charles Brooks; brother Gene Brooks, and sister Sharon Upton.
Visitation will be held Saturday, January 4 from 12 to 2 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St, Indianapolis with a Funeral Service beginning at 2 PM. Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 50 E 91st St #100, Indianapolis, IN 46240.
