Gary Elliott, 85, of Avon, passed away March 10th, 2021. He was born in Indianapolis, December 18th, 1935, to parents Gary and Lottie (Wickliff) Elliott.
Gary proudly served his country in the United States Navy.
In 1963, he married the love of his life, Sherry. They walked together through life for 58 wonderful years enjoying family, travel, bowling, camping, and life together. Gary loved having his entire family over for cookouts, dinners, and yard games.
He worked at RCA for many years. Later in life, he worked as a limo driver and enjoyed being able to talk to people.
Gary was an adoring husband, loving father, grandfather, and “G-pa”. He and his wife were active members of Linwood Christian Church for over 50 years and he often assisted his wife Sherry in the kitchen for all the church dinners and gatherings. Gary was a life-long Cubs fan. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, traveling, and spending quality time with his family.
Gary will be missed by all who knew him. Gary believed family was the most important thing. Always strong and silent but supportive in anything anyone needed. Gary’s love for God and Family is what he built his family on and instilled in them.
Gary is survived by his children Curt, Todd, and Donald Elliott; grandchildren David Elliott, Danielle Elliott, Leisa Schmid, Candy Caldwell, and Gary Elliott II; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings Jerry Elliott, Eleanor Brooks, Mary Lou Polesel, Harold Elliott, and his beautiful wife Sherry Elliott
Gary will have a memorial service at a later date and will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
